Best Lasagne Ever


Meat Sauce:

  • 2 onions, chopped
  • Garlic
  • Beef mince (~500g)
  • Can of diced tomatoes
  • Tomato paste
  • Sugar (sprinkle)
  • Mixed herbs
  • Salt + pepper
  • Veggies (I use Zucchini, Capsicum and mushrooms)

Cook onions and garlic. Add beef and cook until brown. Add tomatoes and tomato paste and mix. Add sugar (secret ingredient!) mixed herbs and S+P. Add vegies and mix. Let simmer on a low heat.

White sauce:

  • 1⁄2 cup plain flour
  • 50g butter
  • 2 1⁄2 cups milk
  • grated Cheese
  • Nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper

+ Lasagna sheets


Melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and mix straight away. When formed, add milk slowly ­ a bit at a time until good consistency. Don’t stop stirring!!!! Add cheese, nutmeg and S+P.

Layer meat sauce, lasagna, white sauce, lasagna, meat sauce, lasagna, white sauce, cheese. I used both grated cheese and parmesan on top. Cook ~40 minutes at ~200C. You can cover in aluminium foil for first 10­-15 minutes so doesn’t burn on top.
